On December 17th, the Georgia Revolution FC held the first of three open tryouts for the upcoming National Premier Soccer League season.  On a busy day at N. Mt. Carmel Park in Hampton, new Head Coach Chris Mahaffey and his staff got their first look at the beginnings of his 2017 NPSL roster.  There were lots of talented local players in attendance, making the selections difficult for the coaches.  The tryouts were exciting with so many potential Revs on the field giving their all.

As a team made up of mainly local players, identifying talent through open tryouts is a must for the Revs.  Each season over half of the final roster comes from these tryouts so the pressure is on for the staff to quickly identify the best of the many outstanding players.

53 players attended this open tryout and 25 were invited to the teams closed tryouts in March.  With two open tryouts remaining before the invitation only session, competition for the final NPSL roster is going to be intense.

Open tryout #2 will be held at 4PM on January 21st.  Open tryout #3, the final open tryout for the 2017 team, will be held at 2PM on February 11th.   If you think you have what it takes to play in the NPSL, don’t miss your chance…attend one of the upcoming tryouts.  REGISTER HERE

  1. Georgia Revolution FC,
My name is Ricard Lao and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I am a junior at Christian Brothers University in Memphis (DII school) . I am the starter goalkeeper in CBU and I would like to play in the NPSL during the summer. My freshman and sophomore year I was in Alderson Broaddus University (DII school) where I got the All Conference goalkeeper award both years. I will attach you my highlight videos in case your coaches are interested. Please contact me if you are further interested. I know there are tryouts but I do not know if I could attent to.
    Thanks,
    Ricard Lao
